A popular 19th-century portland rose, this variety produces attractive flowers that are deep pink towards the centre and a pale, translucent pink at the edges. They are cupped, reflexed at the edge and quartered towards the centre. The flowers are liberally borne in small tight clusters of 3-5 blooms on sturdy, prickly, upright stems. The scent is strong and sweet, and repeats well. Sometimes susceptible to blackspot. Plant in any well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter in sun. Also, use mycorrhizal fungi 'Rootgrow' in your planting hole. These are friendly fungi that attach themselves to roots for the purpose of accessing available nutrients for plants. Height: 1.75m, Spread: 1.25m.
